Lanny H Calls To Ban Golf Events in “Shithole” Locations

The golf world is filled with regret this week.

The Blue Monster of Doral, a Tour stop from 1962, was jettisoned last year, a victim of misguided political correctness gone wild.  The PGA Tour moved the WGC-Cadillac during the 2016 election campaign, as part of a coordinated media campaign to damage the chances of a political candidate.  You may have heard of their target: President Donald Trump.  You see, President Trump owns Doral.  The media thought, Wouldn’t it be embarrassing for Trump if we moved his tournament — to Mexico!  (The media was in the midst of painting Trump as some kind of Mexico hater, the plan being to cost him Spanish-speaking voters.)

Their failed plan now stands as a reminder of just how corrupt our media has become and how far-reaching their sphere of influence.  Professional Golf, for its part has one major concern, and it ain’t the welfare of the game.  No, professional golf is concerned only with maximizing profits for whoring itself out to the media and corporate world.  (“Media and corporate world” is redundant, isn’t it?)

We see a lot of “activism” these days.  However, the perceived injustices are rarely important, and even more rarely are they true.  For example, there has been great “activism” to force companies to allow men to dress up as women and pee in the womens/girls public restrooms.  (I am tempted to write, “No, I am not making this up,” but this was such a Big Important Issue I’m sure you’ve already heard of it.)  The NBA All-Star game was moved out of North Carolina because of this Big Important Issue.  It was simply not allowable for a population to harbor the idea that it might be undesirable for grown-ass men to dress up like women and pee in restrooms alongside women and girls.  If parents have such concerns for their daughter, they are clearly bigots who needed to be punished.

The restroom matter is an example of a Big Important Issue that is true, but trivial.  Now let’s look at an issue that is non-trivial, but untrue: the idea that black people are being gunned down indiscriminately by white policemen.  This would be a highly-important matter — if it were true.  However, study after study has shown it is a myth.  It is a false issue invented by “activists,” aided and abetted by the ratings-seeking media.

Are there no issues that are both important and true?  Yes, there are.  But don’t expect the legacy media to cover them.  If an issue doesn’t fit their agenda, you’ll never hear about it.  But take heart: Lanny H is here to fill the void.  Tomorrow, in Part II of this series, Lanny H explains how golf fans can make their voices heard — and make our children’s America great.

Good editorial but you might want to fix the word true twice in a row

I honestly don’t care that they moved away from Doral or why. That said, I feel like I heard some negative reviews from players regarding a renovation they did in, I don’t know, the last 10-12 years. I also feel like I heard some negative sentiments about the new renovations giving the long hitters a more significant advantage. Pretty general comments on my part but the point is, I’m not so sure the players are all that upset about the move.

The larger issue is that pc is ruining sports, especially pro-sports….pc ruins everything eventually……The PGA last year showed itself to be nothing more than a pc-puppet in moving the tournament from Doral…..Players complain about alot of courses, or aspects of them, but don’t usually move them in response..
Meanwhile, they have protected the Eldrick Woods BRAND(a very, VERY, VERY popular PC-pick), and have CAREFULLY ignored, AND help cover up his career in steroids/ped’s…..
Point is there was no REAL reason to move the tournament other than PC….Now if the PGA were to take away Tiger Woods ‘Hero World Challenge’, due to his lifestyle and history with steroids/ped, then I’d cut the PGA a break, but they will NEVER discipline Tiger Woods……..

I think I’d have to agree with that, for sure. When walking on eggshells to avoid offending someone even in the most minor of ways replaces truth and reality, there will be inevitable deterioration. Probably provable mathematically.

I think it was a smash-it-and-find-it course, even after the changes. Woods won there half a dozen times, and those were the courses where his game prevailed.

The problem is not so much with the course, as with the location. Lots of players — especially the large number living in Florida — to drive to Miami rather than travel to a foreign country. But, don’t forget Doral was an event since 1962. What about the concept of loyalty? Is that extinct, overtaken by asinine cries of “Russia! Russia! Russia!” and other childish political nonsense?
