Fox Fears: My high hopes for Fox Sports are starting to turn into fear. After watching Fox Sports’ horrid “Blair Witch Project” camera work at a women’s golf event a month ago, I’ve grown very leery. Another negative: Fox Sports 1 has the rights to the Women’s World Cup of soccer which is taking place this week, and there seems to be almost no U.S. Open buildup. No live shows from Chambers Bay that I’ve seen yet. Golf Channel is going to have vastly more coverage prior to the tournament’s start.
US Open Weather: Looks good, with only a 10 percent chance of rain Thursday; 40 percent chance of showers on Friday; 0 percent chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday.
OWGR Roundup: Fabian Gomez, with his St. Jude win in Memphis, rose to #131 from #288. Phil Mickelson rose from #19 to #17 on the strength of his T-3 at Memphis. Tiger Woods fell to #195.
Morning Drive: Can this show get any worse? I can’t handle all the forced happy talk. And with the reality shows cancelled (thankfully), the “Altered Course” promos are kind of sad or morbid.
Rory’s Home Field Advantage: Did you know the company responsible for installing the fescue grass at Chambers Bay is based in Dublin, Ireland?
While Graeme McDowell, Shane Lowry and Darren Clarke complete the Irish challenge, a further flavour of these parts has been contributed by the Dublin company, Turfgrass Consultancy, who were responsible for the agronomy at this, their first Major venue.
Euro Seven Roll Call: Who is playing this week?

Six of the seven! The only one of the Euro Seven not in the field this week is Thomas Bjorn. Enjoy, jalnichols!
