Short notice, but the LPGA is on tonight from Hawaii, meaning prime time evening coverage. Four hours in total. Seven of top nine players, but no Lydia Ko.
LPGA televised coverage seems to have a Woods-type fascination with Michelle Wie. I suppose her one major win qualifies some, but otherwise, she’s usually not near the top of the leaderboard.
Oh, yeah, no doubt. Consider she’s the same age as Rory McIlroy, and with Rory, the American media hardly covered him at all when he was going for his third major in a row. Wie, who has not had anywhere near McIlroy’s success, is covered, as you said, in a Woods-like fashion. At least Wie is a gracious, good, intelligent, likeable person.
Re Oahu, the only suspense is which Korean is going to win. Currently, two Kims at -10, five pops in front.
