Tiger Woods’s vulgar outbursts may be swept under the rug in the United States, but the rest of the world refuses to carry the water for him. Let’s face it: Tiger Woods is a despicable human being. Many golf fans, including yours truly, fell for the false image crafted by IMG and the American golf media — until the dual scandals hit in 2009. But now that my eyes have been opened, I am beyond tired of the American sports media continuing to shovel their shite on us.
After Woods’s latest breakdown on the course, Britain’s Sky Sports had this (and much more) to say:
He knows the cameraman is there. He knows the microphones will be there. He comes across with the foul language. All sorts of people are watching that. Children are watching it. He’s a role model. He hasn’t got a leg to stand on.
And no amount of penalties will, apparently, will change his mind about how to behave in those situations. It’s the epitome of being unprofessional when you’re doing your sport and golf needs… Golf has always had… The sponsors are attracted to golf because it’s a very clean environment and clean platform.
That’s the worst of the worst, that and the spitting, and the other stuff, is terrible.
