Back in the autumn of 2011, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods both inked deals with new corporate sponsors. McIlroy signed with Banco Santander, a Spanish bank. Woods signed with Fuse Science, an American company with a method for faster delivery of nutrients into the body.

Banco Santander, Rory’s sponsor, has risen from 7.58 to 10.22 (yesterday’s close), weathering the European Banking Crisis along the way. Fuse Science, Woods’s sponsor, has fallen from 0.38 to 0.0027.
Banco Santander, after signing Rory, saw their stock rise 10 percent a year. Fuse Science, after signing Woods, saw their stock drop 99.3 percent and sits on the verge of bankruptcy.
