THE LATEST: New Mickelson Links

New article from the New York Times.  Explains why Phil Mickelson did it.  Here’s the author discussing the article on CNBC.

Breaking!!!  Bloomberg reporting Phil Mickelson’s gambler buddy owed $15 million to government at time of Clorox options trading!

From John Feinstein.  “Woods’ golf career could be in jeopardy. Mickelson’s life could be in jeopardy.”

The New York Daily News has a very interesting piece, largely focusing on Paul Azinger’s remarks, like these:  “He’s in a tough spot now.”  And: “I don’t know what the relationships there are, but I don’t think that Phil has ever done anything with any kind of intent.”  That second one is interesting because Azinger, described as “friend and colleague” to Mickelson, seems to be switching the battle from whether Mickelson did wrong to whether Mickelson knowingly did wrong.

The political cartoonists are starting to have some fun at Mickelson’s expense as seen here and here.

Never seen someone take so much pride and joy in the fall of others.

What are you talking about? This is not “the fall” of anyone. This is “catching a criminal.” Did you cry when Bernie Madoff was convicted?

It is a fall to an extent. Phil was “king of the world”. Everyone loved him, only to find out he’s just a crook.
